There are guys who pose nude. And there are guys who inhabit their nudity. Yazan clearly belongs to the second category. This young man of Palestinian origin living in Amsterdam lets himself be photographed in black and white on an embroidered daybed, in an apartment that smells of old parquet and afternoons when you don’t leave the bed. The result is insanely sensual.
Physically, Yazan is a mix that turns heads: tight black curls, olive skin enhanced by the film grain, a fine face with chiseled features, and a lean body that’s defined, all length. His razor-sharp abs pop with every twist of his torso, his shoulders are broad without being massive, and when he stretches on that chaise lounge like a cat in the sun, you see every muscle working under his skin. He has a tattoo on his forearm that adds just the right amount of character to the whole package. And his perfect little ass that we glimpse in certain poses — round, firm, perfectly proportioned — makes this series completely addictive.
What makes these photos so special is Basque photographer Jon Ariza De Miguel’s choice to shoot exclusively on film, without any retouching. Based between Zarautz in the Basque Country and The Hague in the Netherlands, Jon is an engineer by trade and photographer by passion. His portraits are published in magazines like KALTBLUT, Tale of Men and PNPPL zine. His thing is raw male portraiture, unfiltered, with that grainy texture of film photography that gives skin a depth that digital will never match. Here, every grain of the film caresses Yazan’s body like you’d want to do.
The setting isn’t random. This brocade fabric daybed, these French windows, this European bourgeois apartment setting — everything evokes the classical nudes of painting, a 21st-century Caravaggio. Yazan lies there, arches there, spreads himself there with total ease. Jon’s high and low angles cut his body into desirable fragments: a torso hollowed by light, lean thighs spread over the armrest, hips offered without shame. His soft cock is there, natural, relaxed — like the rest of him. No forced provocation, no manufactured poses. Just a beautiful naked guy who knows he’s beautiful and takes his time.
