“What role do I play within the tradition of nude photography? This inquiry initiated the creation of this collection. Carving out a personal style and narrative within this photographic genre is daunting. I am burdened by the weight of an extensive legacy. Hence, these images serve as visual explorations.
As an (amateur) photographer, my forte is street photography with an emphasis on the mundane. Mundane, in this context, is devoid of any derogatory connotation. It represents a pursuit of everyday beauty. My primary fascination lies in the allure of daily materials/situations and the ordinary men I encounter on the streets.
Yet, I was compelled to engage with the art of staged nude photography, with a nod to the mundane. That’s why the photographs were captured in my living room, devoid of any sophisticated gear. Just my 35mm camera, a ring light, my furnishings, and a guy I met at a gathering.”
