Meet Bastien, an 18-year-old in his final year of high school, with dreams of joining the military next year. His photos may paint a picture of a brooding young man seldom flashing a smile, but in person, he’s quite the opposite. Contrary to his “tough guy” image, he’s genuinely one of the sweetest and friendliest subjects I’ve ever captured on lens.
Our first outdoor photoshoot was set against the rustic backdrop of an agricultural field. I met Bastien in person for the first time the evening before, and we decided to hit a trendy hookah bar. Amid the swirling smoke and ambient music, we bonded for hours.
